Remeber when rain was fun?

Went to the zoo today despite the rain. Saw this little girl with an umbrella twice her size happily skipping down the path. Made me remember that rain was to be caught on your tongue, puddles were to splashed in and, rainbows were to be hoped for.....

Fairy Tales

Saw a new fairy tale today. One I was not familiar with...well at least the second verse.

Goosey, Goosey Gander
Wither shall I wander?
Upstairs and downstairs,
And in my ladies chamber.

There I met an old man,
Who wouldn't say his prayers,
I took him by the left leg,
And threw him down the stairs!

I have always loved Nursery rhymes!

Fairy Gardens...

One of my favorite lines in a movie is from Peter Pan with Robin Williams when they all say 
"I believe in fairies... I DO! I DO" 

As a child I loved Peter Pan, and the idea of fairies. Fairy rings and mystical gardens....I will be planting one this summer. I hope it has magic enough to draw fairies to it! What do you suppose grows in a fairy garden?

Crayons.....

What is better than a new coloring book? A new box of crayons to go with it! :)

I remember when a new box of crayons came with 64 colors. Now you can get a crayon tower with 150 colors of you very own :)

Tic Tac Toe

The other day our neighbors daughter was playing tic tac toe on her mother's IPAD with my husband, she is four. When he would place his letter on the board she would look at it carefully and then, if it wasn't where she thought it should be, she erased it and moved it to the place of her choice. Wouldn't it be nice if that was the option for all the things we didn't like?

Remember when is a page devoted to seeing things through the eyes of a child, or stepping back in time to our own childhood memories. Stories that bring laughter and create bonds between people throughout time. Games like "Ditch", "Oly, Oly Oxen Free", and Freeze tag. When things were simple and enjoyed with friends near and far.
